DESIGNING OF SMART AND SECURE SINGLE ATM CARD FOR MULTIPLE BANK ACCOUNTS
The advent of technology is increasing day by day. Man stopped carrying money purses or wallets with them wherever they go. Instead, they started carrying Credit Cards, Debit Cards and ATMs. They carry on with their shopping and pay the bill amounts using these cards. Thus, these cards have become a part of human life. But, if a human has so many cards he has to carry all the ATM cards along with him. But, to avoid carrying all the cards along with him we are inventing a multi account ATM card.
This project has been designed as a real time application to avoid multi ATM cards.
For the multiple accounts of the different banks we can access by using a single ATM. In that single ATM all our bank accounts data can be stored.
In this project we use Smart card as ATM card; whenever we insert this card into smart card reader then it will read the card date and send that information to micro controller. Now we have to select the bank name and then we have its respective password, micro controller checks the password and will give authentication for transaction.
In this project we use 16X2 LCD for displaying the status messages and 4X3 keypad to enter the inputs. And communication between smartcard reader and micro controller is being done using serial communication.
Micro controller plays vital role in this project, for this purpose we are using LPC2148 controller, it is 16/32bit controller which has inbuilt 32k bytes flash memory,8 k bytes RAM and 48 I/O pins and 2-UART the advantages of this controller are low cost, availability of tools and resources are more.
